RAD Cafe opened its doors almost a decade ago in Mount Eden and it is one of the most well-established cafes in Auckland. Being very popular with the locals, especially for those seeking good coffee, RAD Cafe serves delicious coffee and a menu all week.
They use Rocket Coffee beans, which the roastery is based in Hamilton, New Zealand. Rocket Coffe is one of my personal favourites, I love their deep caramel-ly notes - perfect to drink as both white or black.
RAD Cafe's menu is another reason that the cafe is a popular destination for the locals and beyond.
Their dishes are made with the best ingredients they can source and the plating is beautiful.
And of course, the portion size is very generous and I feel for the price, the cafe offers a lot of value.
Tony, the owner of RAD Cafe, is behind the current operation (and success) of the cafe. After years of being a Head Chef in Rotorua, he returned to Auckland in 2021 - where he took over this cafe.
One of the biggest changes Tony made since he became the owner is he formed a fully professional team of chefs for RAD Cafe. This enabled the cafe to produce the highest food quality (both presentation and taste) but also efficiency; both are required to operate a busy cafe.
Definitely check out RAD Cafe next time you are in the area. I particularly recommend trying their French Toast and Pulled Pork Hock Eggs Benedict.
